Liquid silicon fertiliser with stabilised orthosilicic acid (Si(OH)₄)
Gen200 Control supplies silicon in the form of stabilised orthosilicic acid (Si(OH)₄), the form of silicon that plants can take up directly. It also contains potassium, boron and molybdenum. Silicon is built into the cell walls, which helps plants develop stronger stems, leaves and roots and cope better with abiotic stress such as heat, cold and drought. Gen200 Control can be used in all growing media and combined with all fertilisers.

Directions for use
Always add Gen200 Control to the feeding water before adding other nutrients. Add 15 ml per 100 litres of feeding water with every watering. As a foliar spray, apply 1 ml per litre of water, 1–2 times per week. To limit vertical stretch, use 3 ml per 10 L in the nutrient reservoir.

Using Gen200 Control to control the height of plants
Silicon uptake by plants strengthens cell walls and improves stiffness in the plants’ epidermis. Because of this, the use of Gen200 Control can be effective in controlling the vertical growth of plants. By feeding the plants increased doses of Gen200 Control, they will get elevated levels of silicon in their system.
The physical effects this silicon has on the cell walls and outer layers of the plant prevent the plant tissue from stretching. The aim is a more compact plant with shorter internodes. Be careful not to increase the dosage too high. To limit vertical stretch, use 3 ml per 10 L in the nutrient reservoir.
Look for signs of overdosing by testing the flexibility of the leaves. If the leaves break upon touching, the silicon levels in the plant are too high.
The ‘silicon paradox’
The ‘silicon paradox’ in agriculture is the contrast between the large quantities of non-absorbable silicon compounds (such as silicon dioxide, SiO2) and the very low concentrations of absorbable silicon molecules (such as silicic acid Si(OH)4). So it is not about the amount of silicon in the soil, but about the amount of bioavailable (mono-) silicic acid, which Gen200 Control contains.
