Coco Feeding Schedule with Rhodos Powder Nutrients

Cannabis plant growth stages from seedling to flowering

Coco coir is one of the most popular growing media for indoor growers. It holds water and air well, but it contains very few nutrients of its own, so your plants depend on what you feed them. A clear coco feeding schedule makes that easy. In this article we show how to feed coco with Rhodos powder nutrients, from clone to flush.

Why coco needs its own feeding approach

  • Feed with every watering. Because coco supplies little nutrition itself, you give a complete nutrient solution every time you water. The Rhodos instructions do the same: apply the Rhodos solution with every watering for a constant supply of nutrients.
  • Calcium and magnesium. Coco growers pay close attention to calcium and magnesium. In the Rhodos system, Rhodos Base supplies calcium (26% CaO) and nitrate nitrogen, while Rhodos Grow and Rhodos Bloom contain magnesium (5.8% and 5.4% MgO).
  • pH in the right range. For coco, rock wool and hydro the target pH is slightly lower than for soil.

The Rhodos coco feeding schedule

The table shows how much of each product to add to 100 L of water in each phase. Dissolve the products in the order listed.

Dissolve in order Clone Vegetative Bloom Flush
1. Gen200 Control 15 ml 15 ml 15 ml –
2. Rhodos Base 65 g 100 g 100 g –
3. Rhodos Grow – 190 g – –
3. Rhodos Bloom 125 g – 190 g –
EC (mS/cm) 2.0 3.0 3.0 < 0.1
pH coco / hydro / aero 5.8 5.5–5.8 5.8–6.2 6.0–6.4

Rhodos by Gen200 grow schedule – how to use the nutrient calculator for a full grow cycle

How to mix your coco nutrient solution

  1. Start with clean water, preferably osmosis water. With tap water, make sure the starting EC is below 0.4 mS/cm.
  2. Add Gen200 Control (15 ml per 100 L) and mix well.
  3. Dissolve Rhodos Base completely. Warm water (20–25 °C) speeds this up.
  4. Then dissolve Rhodos Grow (vegetative) or Rhodos Bloom (clones and flowering) completely.
  5. Check the EC and adjust the pH to the range for your phase.
  6. Water your plants directly from the reservoir.

Not working with 100 L? The Rhodos nutrient calculator converts the schedule to your own reservoir size.

Coco feeding schedule phase by phase

Clones and seedlings

A lighter mix: 65 g Rhodos Base and 125 g Rhodos Bloom per 100 L, at an EC of 2.0 and pH 5.8. You can also pre-soak your propagation medium – see Clone with Confidence: Pre-Soak with Rhodos.

Vegetative stage

100 g Rhodos Base and 190 g Rhodos Grow per 100 L, at an EC of 3.0 and pH 5.5–5.8 for coco.

Flowering stage

Switch from Rhodos Grow to Rhodos Bloom: 100 g Rhodos Base and 190 g Rhodos Bloom per 100 L, at an EC of 3.0 and pH 5.8–6.2.

Flush

At the end of the cycle the schedule uses plain water with an EC below 0.1 and pH 6.0–6.4.
